Gardening power tool manufacturer VIKING has introduced three newly-designed tillers onto the market in September. The machines are characterised by high comfort, powerful engine performance and ergonomic construction, making soil cultivation significantly easer for amateur gardeners.
To coincide with the market introduction of the new models, VIKING has moved its tiller production from the company's French partners to the Tyrol location. VIKING Production Manager Josef Koller is delighted about the move for a number of reasons: "Tillers are frequently used in the autumn as well as in the spring. This results in good production capacity utilisation over the entire year as other machines such as lawn mowers are primarily needed during the first half of the year. It's also particularly pleasing that we have been able to create additional jobs as a result."
VIKING Managing Director Nikolas Stihl explains: "The new tillers meet all the requirements for a successful product manufactured in-house. It is a real specialist dealer's product and our internal development department will set new standards in terms of performance, ergonomics and comfort. Pioneering innovations can be found from the handlebar to the blades and all this at an extremely competitive price."
During development of the machines, the VIKING designers placed particular importance on two aspects: The tillers had to be low wear and low maintenance. These requirements were fulfilled by using materials which are resilient, even under harsh conditions. The gearbox housing is made from aluminium, the worm shaft from hardened steel and the wheel from a bronze alloy.
