February 2009. Langkampfen-based gardening power tool manufacturer VIKING is actively involved in the area of social sponsorship. EMMAUS Innsbruck is a Caritas association in the diocese of Innsbruck. Its mission is the vocational and social integration of disadvantaged men and women, as part of which it operates a not-for-profit garden maintenance and caretaker service.
The Emmaus staff learned about lawnmower production at VIKING in Langkampfen during a staff outing in January of this year. VIKING is part of the STIHL Group and produces lawn mowers, garden shredders and other gardening equipment for the discerning gardener.
Because the services provided by Emmaus include working in gardens and around the house, VIKING felt it was a perfect fit for its sponsorship activities and on April 7 presented the society with a 7 Series professional lawn mower and a tiller.
Emmaus is currently home to fourteen men and women learning to live an independent life – and looking forward to getting to grips with the new tools!
