VIKING continues its support for SOS Children's Village

Cheque for EUR 7,000 for SOS Children's Village Greece

VIKING Sales Manager Michael Scheffler and Elias Ravanis, Managing Director of STIHL Greece, recently presented a cheque for EUR 7,000 to the delighted representatives of SOS Children's Village Greece. Elias Ravanis is responsible for sales of the two brands, VIKING and STIHL, in Greece. "We are extremely pleased and honoured to support this SOS Children's Village and in this way make a substantial contribution to helping children and families in need", said the two representatives from VIKING, who saw at first hand the valuable work being done under less than easy conditions.

SOS Children's Village has had a presence in Greece since 1975. The Children's Village in Vari, which has been in existence since 1982, consists of 15 houses, which are home to 15 Children's Village mothers and a total of 44 children. The support is doubly important in situations and countries, like Greece, where the economic conditions are difficult. The annual costs of maintaining one SOS Children's Village family in the Vari Children's Village are approx. EUR 10,000. VIKING's contribution will fund professional training opportunities as well as psychological and psychosocial care for the children, among other things.

VIKING, the gardening power tool manufacturer based in Langkampfen, Austria, has been an active sponsorship partner of SOS Children's Village since 2005. In recent years, VIKING has supported a wide range of SOS Children's Village projects both in Austria and internationally. VIKING is part of the STIHL Group and produces and sells lawn mowers and other gardening power tools. With 373 employees, VIKING achieved a turnover of EUR 193.9 million in 2015.
