Ground-breaking ceremony for extension building

VIKING continues to grow

The official ground-breaking ceremony for the extension building took place at VIKING GmbH in Langkampfen at 9:30 a.m. The positive development in recent years as well as excellent perspectives for the future were the reasons for the gardening power tool manufacturer to extend its premises. Three new assembly units, test cabins for durability testing of the machines, a new spare parts store as well as office area will be created. The new building will cover a total additional area of 4,700 m². The extension building will already be completed in September 2007.

With this project, VIKING and its parent company STIHL are again making a clear declaration of confidence in the Tyrol location. In the coming years, VIKING will also be increasing its number of employees, as it has done in recent years.

VIKING GmbH, which today celebrates its 25-year company anniversary, produces lawn mowers, ride-on mowers, garden shredders, hedge trimmers as well as other gardening power tools and sells them exclusively via specialist service-providing dealers. In 2005, VIKING achieved a turnover of 83 million euros with 161 employees – the best result in the company's history. A result, which will be exceeded in 2006.
