With the launch of the new STIHL MSA 300, STIHL presents the most powerful cordless chainsaw currently available on the market. The battery-powered professional chainsaw is manufactured at STIHL Tirol in Langkampfen. The new product was launched in Austria in March 2022.
The MSA 300, which was developed at STIHL headquarters in Germany, highlights the company's innovative strength and opens up a completely new dimension for chainsaw usage in noise-sensitive areas. The STIHL AP 500 S battery pack was developed specifically for the professional cordless chainsaw. Thanks to innovative technology, the battery not only impresses with its high energy content and low weight, but also due to its significantly longer service life compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries. The professional cordless chainsaw also features numerous user-friendly and innovative functions. Thanks to a large LED display, users can see all of the important details about the status of the chainsaw and the chain brake at all times. An anti-vibration system reduces the transmission of vibrations and safeguards users' energy levels.
For a number of years now, the Tyrolean garden equipment manufacturer has placed major focus on the production of the STIHL Group's cordless products. The development of battery technology is progressing rapidly in many areas and the demand for battery-powered products is also growing continuously – including for gardening tools. As a result, the importance of cordless tool production has increased significantly at STIHL Tirol in recent years. In addition to cordless chainsaws, the site in Langkampfen also produces a large number of other cordless devices such as lawn mowers, robotic mowers, hedge trimmers and brushcutters.
Cordless garden tools are of great strategic importance for STIHL. Clemens Schaller, the Managing Director of STIHL Tirol, emphasises that: "STIHL stands for innovative strength and top quality products, also in regard to battery-powered technology. The fact that we manufacture these high-quality products in Tyrol strengthens our location and makes us proud."
